The artist is not a different kind of person, but
every person is a different kind of artist
-- Eric Gill
In the early 90's, I enrolled in a
number of photography classes at ACC and UCD. Photography has always been my
first love with an occasional detour into pastel. Landscape is my primary
subject, but any object with interesting shape and color will get my attention.
When photographing, I lose all sense of time and place; I'm in the zone, and
what a wonderful place that is! Mother Nature provides endless opportunities to
find wonderful images to photograph, and I'm thankful for that.
Among my early awards was first place in a National Student
Photography contest. I was also a finalist from 32,000 entrants for the
Photographers' Forum Magazine. Locally, I had numerous photographs selected in
juried shows throughout Denver and the surrounding area such as: Camera Obscura;
Foothills Art Center Colorado Artists Open Exhibit; Core New Art open
entry; Curtis Arts and Humanities Annual Colorado Art Show; Heritage Fine Art
Guild merit award.
More recently, I was awarded the First Prize for
Photography in the 2010 Art Guild of Colorado's Fifteenth Annual "Artists of
Colorado" competition.
Keep your love of nature, for that is the true way to
understand art more and more.
